DAM AND POWER HOUSE NO. 1, PARKSVILLE, POLK COUNTY, TENNESSEE The first of three developments aggregating 85,000 h.p., on the Ocoee River. Length of dam 840 feet; height of spillway 110 feet; Reservoir 2,000 acres; Capacity 25,000 h.p. Completed in January, 1912. Supplies power over high tension lines to Chattanooga, Knoxville, Cleveland, Athens, Sweetwater, Lenoir, Etowah, and Rome, Ga. Operated by the Tennessee Power Company, Cleveland, Tennessee. Under construction—Dam and Power House No. 2, 30,000 h.p.—110,000 volt transmission line to Nash- ville, 170 miles.
